Event description:

We look forward to celebrating our 2020 and 2021 graduates on May 22, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please plan to register for and attend the virtual ceremony attired in Andover Newton’s colors, purple and blue. We plan to mark this special occasion with both solemnity and celebration. Friends and family are invited to watch and celebrate.  Please register for this event by clicking here.

Our commencement address will be given by Professor John Y. Campbell, Morton L. and Carole S. Olshan Professor of Economics at Harvard University and lay leader at Hancock Church United Church of Christ in Lexington, Massachusetts.  Mahogany S. Thomas, Class of 2020 graduate and the inaugural recipient of Andover Newton’s Martin B. Copenhaver Prize for preaching, will deliver the ceremony’s sermon.

Mark Miller will lead graduation music, and his compositions will weave throughout the service. Many of Andover Newton’s worship services have included Mark’s original pieces, which have become like anthems for our community. “I Believe” (link below)is one example of the many pieces that have given our community and others hope in the midst of difficult times.

Mark A. Miller, Lecturer in the Institute of Sacred Music at Yale Divinity School, will lead music with his original compositions, well-known to and beloved by Andover Newton Seminary.
