Drummond sheds light on the forces of emotion, power, and reason in change through case studies and social theory, offering tools and theological perspective to equip the leaders in the work of organizational change.

Praise for Dynamic Discernment

“Using a multidisciplinary approach, Sarah Drummond uncovers dynamics that can undermine any effort to transform organizational culture while reflecting theologically on practices that move communities to health. This book should be in every pastor’s and administrator’s library, coming from a leader who not only thinks about change theory but has lived it effectively.” - Frank Yamada, Executive Director of the Association of Theological Schools

Dynamic Discernment rings true - it portrays change leadership to be as complicated, fraught, adventurous and exhilarating as it really is. Sarah Drummond draws on her considerable experience, research, and theological acumen to expertly guide leaders in understanding and engaging the dynamic interplay between reason, emotion and power for leading change. Dynamic Discernment is an outstanding and hopeful resource to prepare for that kind of creative leadership.” - Matthew Floding, Director of Ministerial Formation at Duke Divinity School and the former chair of the Association for Theological Field Education
