Registration is now open!  

Please plan to celebrate S. Mark Heim on the occasion of his retirement from full-time faculty service to Andover Newton Seminary at Yale Divinity School on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Festivities will include the following:

3PM – Campus tour for first-time visitors to Andover Newton Seminary at Yale Divinity School. Interested attendees should meet at the Croll Family Entrance.

4PM – The Simpson-Hewett Lecture on Religious Pluralism, and honoring Prof. Heim’s contributions to that field, will be held in Marquand Chapel and feature a lecture from Francis X. Clooney (Harvard Divinity School) to be followed by responses from scholars Catherine Cornille (Boston College) and John Thatamanil (Union Seminary).

5:30-7PM – S. Mark Heim Retirement Celebration, Reception, and Dinner (a light supper buffet) will be held in the Old Refectory/Old Common Room at YDS with remarks honoring Prof. Heim’s contributions to Andover Newton Seminary at Yale Divinity School. 

Participation is free of cost to attendees, but registration will be required. 

If you are unable to join us in-person, then please note that both the Retirement Celebration and Simpson-Hewett Lecture will be recorded and shared later. You can also get involved by making a donation to the S. Mark Heim Endowed Scholarship and contributing a memory to the S. Mark Heim Memory Book.
