First Parish Church in Weston welcomes new assistant minister

First Parish Church in Weston, 349 Boston Post Road, has welcomed the Rev. Sarah Napoline as the new assistant minister for families and community outreach.

Rev. Napoline holds a master of divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School, as well as a master of theological research. Her academic thesis considers Mary of Nazareth (the Virgin Mary) in the context of feminist, liberation and humanist theologies. She also holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and religion from Mount Holyoke College.

A lifelong Unitarian Universalist, Rev. Napoline has served congregations across Massachusetts as a minister and religious educator. She was most recently settled at First Parish in Stoughton, where she was the first woman to serve as minister in three centuries of the congregation’s history.

Rev. Napoline has taught and facilitated educational programs (both secular and spiritual) for children, youth and adults for over 15 years. Her experience includes tutoring young women in a juvenile lockdown facility, supporting a high school youth group of over 50 members, and overseeing K-12 religious education programs.

She currently lives in Norwood with her husband, Wes.

I have loved learning and teaching my whole life, and it is a privilege to support people throughout their growth. Right now the world is experiencing historic upheaval and uncertainty, and families need loving community and spiritual grounding more than ever. This is our congregation’s purpose. We help all members, young and old, learn how to live lives rooted in justice, faith and love.
