State of the School and matching gift challenge

May 21, 2020
As Covid-19 has disrupted communities around the nation and world, people are coming to appreciate more deeply a simple fact: human beings need spaces where faith, hope, and love form pillars of belonging. As our alumni/ae guide faith communities through these difficult days, Andover Newton Seminary at Yale Divinity School educates aspiring religious leaders, preparing them to fortify these pillars in the settings they move on to serve. Dean Sarah B. Drummond has just shared a State of the School address  where you can learn more about how Andover Newton carries out its mission (You can also find an embedded link to the State of the School below).

If you have made a gift to Andover Newton Seminary in the past, that gift supported Andover Newton’s programs and provided scholarships for students preparing for ministry.  You made a direct and immediate impact on faith leadership development for the future church. Today, you can make an even greater impact. Andover Newton’s Board of Trustees, the guardians of our school’s historic mission, has designated a portion of its strategic reserve fund to challenge the wider Andover Newton community to give generously to the Annual Fund. This matching gift challenge means that until the goal has been met, or by July 1 (whichever comes first – time is limited), the contribution you make to Andover Newton Seminary will be matched dollar-for-dollar. A ten-dollar gift to the school will become twenty dollars; a thousand-dollar gift to the school will become two thousand.

We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity so that your gift makes the greatest possible impact. In so doing, you will help us educate inspiring leaders for faith communities.

You can respond to the Andover Newton mailing you should have received this week if you are on our US Postal Service mailing list. You can also make your gift online by visiting the giving page. The site is shared by the partner institutions at Yale Divinity School, so please specify Andover Newton Seminary as your beneficiary when you give.

Please continue to hold Andover Newton in your prayers, just as we pray for you in our wider Andover Newton community.
