Turns Again Home Again
Martin B. Copenhaver (MDiv, ‘80) pastored congregations in the United Church of Christ for 34 years, before serving as President of Andover Newton Theological School from 2014 until his retirement in 2019.
Turns Again Home Again represents Copenhaver’s firsthand account of Andover Newton Theological School’s decision to relocate and affiliate with Yale Divinity School in 2017. The book chronicles the key events, figures, and decisions behind the move and the impact on the Andover Newton community.
An afterword is provided by Rev. Dr. Sarah B. Drummond, Founding Dean, Andover Newton Seminary at Yale Divinity School, and the appendices includes the primary source documents that helped facilitate and finalize the move.
Turns Again Home Again was published in October 2025 by Yale Printing and Publishing Services (YPPS), and the book is one of nine that has been written by the author during his career. Copenhaver is a currently a Contributing Editor of The Christian Century magazine. He and his wife, Karen, live in Woodstock, Vermont and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
