Event description:

Join the trustees, faculty, staff, students, and soon-to-be graduates for Andover Newton Seminary’s first commencement ceremony in New Haven. During this celebration, we will award the very first Andover Newton Seminary Diploma to a graduating student who has fulfilled all of the criteria outlined in the educational program that rolled out this past September.

The event will include a dramatic reading of parts of Timothy Dwight’s convocation address to the first class of Andover Theological Seminary, which will be offered by one of our students. During the ceremony, we will also recognize the achievements of other students, and offer gratitude to three graduating student Founders.

Martin Copenhaver will offer the Commencement address, and graduates will also offer reflections.

Andover Newton Semianry’s Commencement will take place at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 18, in Marquand Chapel. The pickup choir  - to which all are invited to participate - will rehearse at 8:20 am in Marquand Chapel.

A reception will follow on the front steps, just outside the chapel. In the case of inclement weather, the reception will take place in the Old Common Room.
