Myles-Amir Riley’s Senior Sermon

May 7, 2025
Myles-Amir Riley is a third-year M.Div. student at YDS and Andover Newton Seminary. Myles-Amir earned his undergraduate degree in oboe performance from Vanderbilt University. He hopes to use his varied background in the arts, government, administration, science, media, business, and the nonprofit sector to glorify God.

Andover Newton’s Rev. JaQuan K. Beachem, Associate Dean for Community Development & Spiritual Formation shared that “Myles-Amir preached a sermon, inspired by the gospel of John, titled “It Will Last.” In this Eastertide, Myles-Amir encourages followers of Jesus Christ to prioritize partnership over performance and cherish collaboration over competition. Those gathered in Marquand to hear were delighted by what he describes as “a meditation on the holy artistry of the Divine, likening the empty tomb to a sacred gallery, where all are invited to witness and participate in the ongoing masterpiece of God’s redemptive work!”
