Dean Sarah B. Drummond is sad to report that William R. “Bill” Herzog II has died. Bill served Andover Newton from 2006-2012, first as Dean of the Faculty and later as Professor of New Testament. Beloved by students and colleagues and staff alike for his warmth and wisdom, Bill and his spouse Mary were integral members of the Andover Newton community in Newton. Bill also leaves behind two adult children, Catherine and Dan. Please hold the Herzog family in your prayers. 

A service will be held at Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 E High St, Gettysburg PA, Friday August 16, 2019 at 11am. Receiving hours will be the evening before Thursday, August 15th from 6-8pm at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg.  

Andover Newton will be offering reflections on Bill’s contributions to New Testament studies and theological education in the coming days.
