Opportunities to Connect Prospective Students to Andover Newton Seminary

September 12, 2018
Dear Alumni/ae and Friends,

Admissions recruiting season is almost upon us! It’s that time of year when potential future students start asking, “How might I live out this calling?” I have already heard from several alums about potential applicants to Andover Newton Seminary at Yale Divinity School. To them I say thank you, and to others I say, “bring ‘em on!”

YDS has 400 students: 200+ MDiv, the rest in various Masters programs. We have 25 students enrolled in Andover Newton’s diploma program, offered in conjunction with the MDiv. We project that the diploma program will grow to 50 within five or fewer years. Beyond our diploma program, many other students are involved in our programs. Our Thursday evening fellowship/Bible study/worship gatherings attract 60+ weekly.

You might have in your imagination someone whose theological education would be best carried out in a place like this: a school within a school that provides support and nurture, an ecumenical wider student body, and the resources of a world-class university. If so, please encourage those you’ve imagined might be interested in Andover Newton at YDS to pay a visit to us.

Prospective student day is November 1, but visits can happen on a rolling basis as well. See https://divinity.yale.edu/admissions-aid/visit-and-connect and please let me know if you have pointed someone our way.

Thank you for putting on those thinking caps. A call to ministry is a group project.

With best wishes,
Sarah B. Drummond
